Blue Bloods season 11 teaser promo: Frank faces a divided city

One week from Friday, Blue Bloods season 11 is going to arrive on CBS, and the first preview makes one thing clear: Frank Reagan has never faced a more difficult challenge than what is ahead of him now. In the promo below, you can get a fairly good sense of some of what lies ahead, which includes a tumultuous climate where people have divided opinions over police and their role in society. We’ve seen Tom Selleck’s character take on the complicated relationship between the NYPD and the people of New York before, but this is different. This promo, short as it is, serves as some evidence that this could be the most topical premiere that we’ve seen in the history of the show. For some more Blue Bloods video discussion, check out our early season 11 hopes below! Once you do just that, subscribe to Matt and Jess on YouTube and then also view our series playlist. Ultimately, you get little flashes in here of Danny and Erin in the midst of their own stories, but it doesn’t give a whole lot...

The developers - Pfizer and BioNTech - described it as a "great day for science and humanity". Their vaccine has been tested on 43,500 people in six countries and no safety concerns have been raised. The companies plan to apply for emergency approval to use the vaccine by the end of the month. No vaccine has gone from the drawing board to being proven highly effective in such a short period of time. There are still huge challenges ahead, but the announcement has been warmly welcomed with scientists describing themselves smiling "ear to ear" and some suggesting life could be back to normal by spring. "I am probably the first guy to say that, but I will say that with some confidence," said Sir John Bell, regius professor of medicine at Oxford University. Stock markets r...

How Police, National Guard And Military Are Preparing For Election Day Tensions

Empty room ready for voting booths for Election Day. Nov. 3 promises to be an Election Day unlike any other, and public safety entities say they're preparing for tensions and the possibility of violence. Poll workers are usually the first line of defense in case of disputes between voters, though they may be backed up by private security guards. Some local election authorities say they'll be adding guards, and Washington state's King County says it will post guards to ballot drop boxes that in other years have been unattended. Most jurisdictions are not planning to post uniformed police at polling stations, because tradition and local laws ke...

Thousands of eviction actions filed despite Trump eviction moratorium

Landlords have filed thousands of eviction actions in the past few weeks despite the Trump administration's eviction moratorium in early September, according to a report released Monday. From early September to Oct. 17, almost 10,000 eviction actions have been filed in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas by large corporate landlords, according to an NBC News report . The evictions database was collected by the Private Equity Stakeholder Project, a nonprofit organization that looks at the influence of private equity on communities. NCIS: Los Angeles season 12 spoilers: A Christmas episode is coming!

We will be the first to admit that we did not expect for there to be a Christmas episode during NCIS: Los Angeles season 12, with there being one major reason for it. When you think about the global health crisis, our assumption was that it was going to be really hard to time out when specific episodes would air. That would mean that episodes would be written with a greater degree of flexibility — in turn, they’d be less seasonal. Yet, the cast and crew of NCIS: LA have clearly found a way to make something happen! For proof, check out the video below from co-stars Eric Christian Olsen and Daniela Ruah. In it, the two have a little bit of fun with the idea of filming a holiday episode right now — there’s a little bit of singing and plenty of merriment. As for what the story looks like, it’s hard to know as of yet! Odds are, there will be some of the typical elements you would expect from this show, just with a slightly different coat of metaphorical paint. ...

Barcelona vs Real Madrid 1-3 - El Clasico 2020

A second-half penalty from Sergio Ramos helped lift Real Madrid to a 1-3 victory over Barcelona in the latest instalment of El Clasico on Saturday evening at the Camp Nou. The two sides produced a thrilling first half in which Fede Valverde and Ansu Fati exchanged goals in the first 10 minutes, before Barcelona seemingly took control early in the second stanza . However, a key penalty call via VAR earned Real Madrid a penalty, which Ramos duly converted, and a late Luka Modric strike polished things off for Los Blancos. The win for Real Madrid halts a two-match losing streak, while it marks a second straight LaLiga loss for the Catalans. There was a strong infusion of youth in the starting XI of Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman, with 17-year-olds Pedri and Ansu Fati getting the nod on the wings, as did 19-year-old right-back Sergino Dest, who became the first ever United States player to start and play in a Clasico. As for the visitors from the capital and maligned hea...
