   The photo of the child sat on the body of his dead grandfather was widely shared on social media. Days after a five-year-old was killed in a terror attack in South Kashmir, on Wednesday in another shocking incident in North Kashmir's Sopore a civilian was killed right in front of his three-year-old grandson. The heartbreaking pictures that surfaced showed the boy sitting on the dead body. The photo of the child sat on the body of his dead grandfather was widely shared on social media. The boy was later taken by the army and police personnel as they attended to him post the trauma. Also during the day, hundreds of people in Indian-administered Kashmir staged protests, accusing government forces of killing a man during a rebel attack which also left a trooper dead. Rebels opened fire from a mosque attic in the northern town of Sopore, setting off a battle with security forces, paramilitary police spokesperson Junaid Khan said.

RICHMOND, Va. — A small group of demonstrators toppled a statue of a Confederate general in the the former capital of the Confederacy late Saturday, following a day of largely peaceful protests in the Virginia city. The statue of Gen. Williams Carter Wickham was pulled from its pedestal in Monroe Park, a Richmond police spokeswoman said. She said she did not know if there were any arrests or damage done to the statue. A rope had been tied around the Confederate statue, which has stood since 1891,  The Richmond Times-Dispatch  reported, adding that someone urinated on the statue after it was pulled down. Photos and video from the newspaper showed the what appeared to be red paint splashed or sprayed on the statue. The unidentified man, treated by two medics, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and is in stable condition, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz tweeted Thursday night. A spokesman for the Buffalo Police Department issued a statement Thursday night saying that during a "skirmish invoking protesters, one person was injured when he tripped and fell."
