Montenegro became this Monday the newest NATO member, by signing their accession at the US State Department building in Washington.
Present in the ceremony was the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, who underlined that Montenegro’s accession is a contribution to international peace and security.
Stoltenberg declared that this is a strong message, showing that the NATO doors are open for everyone.
This is the first NATO accession since April 1st 2009, when Albania and Croatia joined.
