‘NCIS’ Alum Pauley Perrette Calls for ‘Monster’ Blake Fischer’s Ouster Over Baboon-Hunting Story

“NCIS” alum Pauley Perrette has taken aim at Blake Fischer, the Idaho fish and game commissioner who sparked outrage after reportedly sharing photos of exotic animals he’d killed during a hunting trip in Africa.

In a series of tweets published Sunday, Perrette savaged Fischer, writing, “What kind of monster kills giraffes and a family of baboons including a mother clutching her baby to impress his wife? And proudly posts it?” According to the Idaho Statesman, Fischer shared photos — including a photo of a “family of baboons” that he’d killed — with friends and colleagues after his return from the trip last month, prompting former fish and game commissioner Fred Trevey to call for his resignation “to shield the commission as an institution and hunting as a legitimate tool of wildlife management from the harm that is sure to come.” The Statesman reported that, after being called by an anonymous fellow commissioner who was upset about the photos, Fischer apologized for sending the photos unsolicited, but not for the hunt itself. “I didn’t do anything illegal. I didn’t do anything unethical. I didn’t do anything immoral,” the Statesman quoted Fischer as saying. “… I look at the way Idaho’s Fish and Game statute says we’re supposed to manage all animals for Idaho, and any surplus of animals we have we manage through hunting, fishing and trapping. Africa does the same thing.” But Perrette, who played Abby Sciuto on CBS procedural “NCIS” for more than a decade before exiting the series earlier this year, was unwavering in her criticism of Fischer, demanding his immediate ouster. “Prior tweet: the Idaho Fish and Game Commissioner Blake Fischer. That’s the monster,” Perrette tweeted Sunday night. “REMOVE HIM NOW! This is NOT A GAME! Monster.” The actress went on to share photos reported to be of “smiling jerk” Fischer posing with his kills. Perrette cautioned her Twitter followers that she wished she hadn’t seen them, “so beware.” Perrette isn’t the only Hollywood notable to express anger over the Fischer story. On Monday, actor and noted conservative James Woods took to Twitter to strongly express his disapproval, writing, “Honestly some things are just obvious, so please stop selling this nonsense that killing innocent wildlife helps conserve the species,” Woods wrote. “It’s just bulls–. Killing these glorious creatures is barbaric. Just stop it.”
