Pippi Longstocking Is Making A Comeback To The Big Screen

Everyone has been waiting for this new movie based on the Pippi Longstocking stories!
Pippi Langstrump is a red-headed Swedish adventurer. She is the main character in the series of children’s books written by the Swedish author, Astrid Lindgren. Pippi was named by the author’s daughter after she asked her mom for a get-well story after school.
In 1944, Lindgren’s first manuscript was rejected by Bonnier Publishers. But a year later, it was accepted by Rabén and Sjögren. The very first three Pippi Longstocking chapter books came out from 1945 to 1948. This tells the story of the “the strongest and kindest and jolliest and richest girl in the whole world.
” Then, it was followed by three short stories and a picture book adaptations. As of 2018, these have already been translated to 76 different languages. Soon after, these stories were turned into classic films and television series.
Everyone is excited when news came out that Pippi’s adventures will soon be seen in the movies. This movie is produced by StudioCanal and producer David Heyman. The movie will be in collaboration with the Astrid Lindgren Company. This is a family-owned entity that manages all the works of Pippi author, Lindgren.
Astrid Lindgren Film CEO, Nils Nyman said, “In David Heyman … together with StudioCanal, we are confident that we have found a team that can understand and appreciate the full value of Pippi Longstocking and develops films that capture both the playfulness and the gravity in my grandmother’s works.”
For those who are not aware, Heyman produced all of the eight blockbusters “Harry Potter” films through the Heyday Films company. Other than that, he also produced “Fantastic Beasts” and “Paddington” movies. His latest projects are the new screen version of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s “The Secret Garden.” This is a children’s literature classic.
It is clear that Heyman has a great love for adapting children’s books. So for sure, the Pippi Longstocking movie is going to be promising for every moviegoer.
In a statement, Heyman said, “Pippi has endured and inspired families everywhere through her life force, the strength of character and her irrepressible joie de vivre. Astrid Lindgren’s books have been translated around the globe for many years — a testament to her vision which we are determined to honor with a new film.”
Pippi is courageous and resilient. She is the daughter of a buccaneer captain and Pippi loves to tell stories about her dad and his experiences. This freckled girl is definitely unconventional and she is superhumanly strong. In fact, she can lift her horse in one hand! She also became very famous because of her wild braids and signature leggings.
Pippi lives alone with no grownups around her. But she has company all the time – her horse and Mr. Nelson, her pet monkey. Aside from them, she also has two human best friends, Tommy and Annika. She is playful and very unpredictable. Often, she would make fun of unreasonable adults especially if they are condescending. Like Peter Pan, Pippi doesn’t want to grow up.
Pippi’s is surely a perfect choice for a 21st-century reboot. Nobody knows yet about its casting or the release date. The developmental deal was just announced and the production is in its earliest stages. But for sure, this is something that everyone will be looking forward to in the following years!

Tom Selleck is tortured daily because of his long-term disease, his friends say

If rumors are to be believed, fans of the 'man behind the mustache' might have considerable cause for alarm over the actor's health. Several articles have recently made the rounds, all with the same premise: Hollywood heartthrob, Tom Selleck is facing rapidly declining health as he suffers from a debilitating bout of arthritis. One such source to lay claim to Selleck's failing health is Ghanamma.com, whose information is supported by The Nation, an online newspaper. Both sources state that Selleck's arthritis is becoming increasingly painful and hindering, to the point where he can no longer do his own stunts. More than that, however, the publications reported that Selleck uses a stunt double not only for demanding, challenging scenes, but also for the more trivial, mundane tasks, such as simply climbing out of his police vehicle on set while filming Blue Bloods. Some days are worse than others for the former action star, unnamed sources said, claiming tha...

Dogecoin surges 30% to a record above 50 cents as speculative crypto trading continues

Dogecoin , the cryptocurrency based off a viral dog meme from nearly a decade ago, surged 30% on Tuesday to set a new record high at more than 50 cents per coin. The cryptocurrency was trading at about 54 cents, according to data from Coin Metrics. Dogecoin rose to roughly 40 cents per coin last month before falling sharply for several days after the calendar turned to April 20, a date widely celebrated as a marijuana-themed holiday. Dogecoin was started as a joke in 2013 amid a boom in early cryptocurrencies. It was based on a popular internet meme at the time that featured a Shiba Inu dog and cartoon-style text over the image. Its rise in recent months has been highlighted by many as a sign of froth and speculation in the financial markets, particularly among younger investors who started trading during the pandemic. The coin has been boosted in recent weeks by billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Cuban , who have both mentioned Dogecoin on Twitter multiple times. Cuba...
