One of the much-loved characters of the popular American action police procedural television series is likely to be reuniting with the rest of the gang in NCIS Season 18.
Before her speculated comeback in the forthcoming NCIS Season 18, followers of the Mark Harmon-led series were left broken when it was announced that Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) “died” in an explosion.
However, many were shocked when the fan-favorite character made several appearances in NCIS Season 17.
Ziva, Tony might be back again
Executive producer Frank Cardea and co-executive producer Gina Lucita Monreal spoke with Cartermatt in April and revealed some interesting details about the imminent NCIS Season 18.
When asked about how she felt about working on the Ziva arc, Monreal said:
“It was such a joy to have Cote back. For me, I’m a fan of the show too, and there were a lot of unanswered questions with the Ziva departure. It was really fulfilling to be able to answer some of those questions and see her interact with our new team member and give a little bit more closure to the story.”
Cardea, for his part, described it as a”great experience” and stated that he wants to explore the arc more to know where Ziva and Tony Dinozzo, Jr. (Michael Weatherly) are.
Then, Monreal added that “there’s more story to tell,” sparking speculations that Ziva and Tony might comeback in the next installment.
Though it is not impossible, avid followers of the show should take these rumors lightly until everything is proven true and correct.
Cardea, also, hinted at the possibility of playing around with NCIS agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Jacqueline Sloane (Maria Bello), and Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Nicholas Torres’s (Wilmer Valderrama) tandems in NCIS Season 18.
Showrunner shared an exciting update
Meanwhile, earlier this month, showrunner Steven Binder revealed that they have been working on the new storylines already amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Responding to an avid follower’s tweet, he wrote:
“Stay tuned. We are in the (z)room working on the next season as we speak.”
Some fans were quick to respond to Binder’s revelation on Twitter. “Can’t wait! Please more stories centered around the woman! Need to see the women kick some butt!” one fan penned in the comment section.
“Hopefully you’ll give us more of Gibbs and Jack together, I miss #NCIS so much, and the last few years’ episodes have been so soooo good!” another Twitter user stated.
“Sweet news 2 my ears! NCIS Season 18 airdate and cast details
Though CBS has already renewed the series, it remains to be seen as to when should fans expect NCIS Season 18 would hit the small screens.
To recall, Season 17 ended four episodes early, in April, after the management decided to put the production on halt due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Aside from NCIS agency Leroy Jethro Gibbs, other characters expected to return include Tim McGee (Sean Murray), Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham), Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), and Jack Sloane (Maria Bello).
