NCIS has shared the first trailer for upcoming spin-off NCIS: Hawai’i, starring Vanessa Lachey as Special Agent Jane Tennant.
The Love Is Blind host will play Tennant, the first woman Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbour. Lachey’s casting also made history by marking the first time an NCIS series will be based around a female special agent.
The synopsis for the series reads: “Jane Tennant has thrived and risen through the ranks by equal parts confidence and strategy in a system that has pushed back on her every step of the way.
“Together with her unwavering team of specialists, they balance duty to family and country while investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security and the mysteries of the sun-drenched island paradise itself.”
In the trailer, Lachey says she is “excited” to bring a different layer to the Special Agent role, adding she hopes to inspire “this next generation of young girls and women”.
After her casting was announced, Lachey took to Instagram to share her joy at landing the huge role. “Mahalo! I am still on cloud 9 feeling unbelievably grateful,” she wrote.
